A.S.R. Gelpi
Words Conjure Worlds
A.S.R. Gelpi began writing fantastical tales to entertain classmates (and occasionally terrify teachers—sorry again, Mr. Cumbie). In college, storytelling became her favorite distraction during long lectures (what if a monster burst through that door right now?) and while waiting for the bus in 35ºF weather (a unicorn would’ve been handy). Her dreams of dragons and doomed heroes eventually gave way to academia—earning an M.A. from Stony Brook University and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California (go, Trojans!). But the magic never truly disappeared; it merely hid behind a mountain of grading, endless meetings, and that elusive quest for tenure (she got it!). After years of scholarly pursuits and caffeine-fueled conferences, Gelpi returned to her first love: weaving worlds. The result? The Dandelion Chronicles—an epic fantasy saga brimming with intricate characters, lush mythology, and just the right amount of chaos. These aren’t merely books—they’re what happens when a linguist with too many ideas finally lets the monsters out again. When she’s not lost in her literary worlds, A.S.R. Gelpi can be found devouring books, sketching out new story ideas (do not give her more coffee), indulging in anime, exploring hiking trails, battling the occasional dragon (aka grading), or soaking in the sweeping vistas of Yosemite National Park. Join her on this enchanting journey—where every page invites you to dream.
